This is a fabulous deal on a 12 day / 12 animal hunting safari package in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.  The hunt will take place on 55,000 acres (126 sq., miles) of prime habitat that has many thousands of animals living on it.  The Eastern Cape is known for its wide diversity and quantities of trophy plains game animals, and this concession fits that description well.  The diversity of animals here is simply incredible, with 70 species of animals inhabiting this game-rich ranch.  Many exotics species such as scimita- horned oryx, Pere David deer, Nubian ibex, red lechwe, hog deer, Livingstone eland and many more have also been released.  There are over 200 Cape buffalo roaming this vast concession and there are also some white rhino present.

There is a second 4-star lodge just two hours away, where much of the Kudu, impala and warthog hunting will occur.  If these animals are in your package, you will relocate to this area which is 2 hours away and offers prime trophy hunting for these species.  In addition to the additional 7,000-acre private concession, there is also an adjacent vast public hunting block of over 300,000 acres, which is 652 sq. miles of hunting area!

THE ULTIMATE HUNTING SAFARI AREAS

The first part of this hunting safari will take place on 55,000 acres in the Eastern Cape of South Africa near Queenstown.  The area features natural wild animals that have adapted to the conditions of the Eastern Cape and several introduced species.  The main lodge is approximately a 2-hour drive from East London.  The terrain that you will hunt on consists of a mix of mountains, valleys and savanna.  Once your main species have been taken you will drive 2 hours to an area north of the main lodge to continue hunting for trophy kudu, nyala, impala and warthog.

THE ULTIMTE SAFARI HUNTING METHODS

The first part of this safari will primarily be done by driving and spotting or driving and then hiking on foot to spots with a good view and then glassing for trophies.  Once a desirable trophy animal is located, a plan will be made you and your PH will begin stalking the animal on foot until a suitable shot is provided.  Pop-up blinds may be used at times for setting up on waterholes or food sources, depending on what your Ph feels will be the most effective way to achieve tour desired trophy results.

You should be in average to good shape (2-3 on a 5 scale) to be successful on this safari. The camp does feature one wheelchair accessible room and the outfitter can accommodate 1 wheelchair hunter at a time.

The second part of this hunting safari will take place 2 hours north of the main concession.  Here you will hunt your kudu, impala, nyala and warthog. You may end up sitting on a waterhole to take your warthog, as it is one of the most reliable methods when it is dry.  The kudu, nyala and impala will be hunted by driving, glassing and then stalking on foot.  Kudu hunting will be by spot and stalk, glassing and possibly sitting over oranges, as kudu just love oranges!

Ultimate Safari Trophy GemsbokUltimate Safari Trophy Waterbuck

The Eastern Cape produces some exceptional trophy quality.  The outfitter’s Eastern Cape Kudu’s average around 46’’ – 47” with some bigger bulls exceeding 50” being taken annually.  The gemsbok in this area average between 36” – 39”.  Trophy quality rivals that of other areas in South Africa, with kudu being the exception, as there are no natural greater southern kudu in the Eastern Cape.

Other animals are available per price sheet.

This hunt is available from March – November.  Prime time for Kudu is late April – early June!

THE 4-STAR ULTIMATE SAFARI LODGES

This hunt will be conducted from a 4-Star permanent camp nestled in a valley and featuring a swimming pool and a great view of the surrounding hills.  The food and beverages are superb, and the evening meals will be followed by gathering around the fire under the southern stars.  The large modern rooms feature in-suite bathrooms with showers.  The lodge has permanent electrical power.  Both cell phone service and internet access are available at the lodge for those of you that want to stay in touch while on safari.

The main lodge can accommodate groups of up to 15 hunters, although groups of 10 or less are preferred.

A second lodge used for kudu, impala and warthog hunting is also a luxury lodge and features in-suite bathrooms, cell phone and internet service.  This secondary lodge features 6 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 hunters at a time.

Testimonials

"I booked my crocodile hunt in Mozambique through Discount African Hunts. The hunt was great and my wife and I really enjoyed the service provided by the outfitter. Everything was done very professionally and the outfitter and his group went out of their way to provide us with a wonderful experience and a great time.

If we ever go back to Africa, I am sure that we will contact Discount African Hunts to set up another hunt with this outfitter."
