This is a fabulous deal on a 12-day / 12 animal hunting safari package in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province. The concession here holds a wide diversity and quantity of trophy plains game animals, so you’ll be sure to go home with lots of impressive trophies!
THE ULTIMATE HUNTING SAFARI AREAS:
The hunting safari will take place over 5,200 acres in the Northern Cape of South Africa 100 kms from Kimberly.. The concession features an abundance of trophy-quality animals. The main lodge is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Kimberly. The terrain that you will hunt on consists of a mix of dense thickets and open grassy plains. Tall trees and shrubs cover much of the concession. There are some rolling hills as well that blend into riverine areas within the area, adding a nice mix of environments for you to hunt in!
THE ULTIMATE SAFARI HUNTING METHODS:
This safari will primarily be done by driving and spotting or driving and then hiking on foot to spots with a good view and then glassing for trophies. For your typical day’s hunt, you can expect to wake up early to a light breakfast prepared for you by the kitchen staff. You’ll talk over the plan for the day with your PH before heading out in a truck to search for your trophies. You’ll glass from the truck with binoculars, looking for tracks or signs of animals. You can expect to start the morning near waterholes and riverbanks before moving deeper into the concession. Once a desirable trophy animal is located, a plan of approach will be made by you and your PH. Once you have talked and understood the plan, you will begin stalking the animal on foot until a suitable shot is provided. You may use pop-up blinds at times for setting up on waterholes or food sources, depending on what your PH feels will be the most effective way to achieve your desired trophy results.
Once the afternoon sun sets in, you’ll head back to camp to eat and relax during the heat of the day before heading back out to catch any trophies that may be moving before the sun sets. You’ll be following the same spot-and-stalk method as earlier. Oftentimes animals will come out to graze right before sunset, so you may catch some trophies out in the open that are easily visible! Once the sun sets, it’s back off to camp for another delicious meal prepared by the kitchen staff. Get your rest and relaxation in as much as you can, since you will have quite the list of trophies to harvest on tomorrow’s hunt!
You should be in average to good shape (2-3 on a 5 scale) to be successful on this safari.
.
Hunting Seasons:
This hunt is available year-round and can be booked for any time other than December 14 - January 7. That being said, hunting between the months of May through September will give you the best hunting experience, as it is dryer during these months and the bush tends to thin out a bit, giving you the best chance to spot the biggest trophies easier.
About the Ultimate Safari Outfitter:
This outfitter has spent decades creating incredible African safaris for his clients, making sure every trip is both memorable and successful. He’s been in charge of this concession for over 13 years, with exclusive hunting rights and an in-depth knowledge of the land. From the moment you arrive, his passion for hunting and hospitality is obvious. He genuinely values each guest and goes the extra mile to create an amazing experience. His concessions are carefully managed to keep wildlife populations healthy and genetics strong, so you can expect top-tier trophies. Lodge and Accommodations:
The best part about this 3.5-star lodge is the incredible food they serve here daily. All the drinks and meals are hand-crafted and are delicious. The main lodge itself features a pool, lounge, bar area, and both an indoor and outdoor dining area. On the patio, you’ll find the firepit and lounge area.
The rooms themselves each feature an en-suite bathroom. There is A/C in each room. Cell phone and internet service is also available while in camp.
Other Available Animals:
There are many other great animals to hunt if you have the chance to do so during your hunt! The species below are all able to be found in trophy quality here on the concession!
Trophy Care and Shipping:
Your animal will be skinned and put in salt after harvesting. Splitting Image will typically pick up your skins about 30 days after your safari ends.
Rental Rifle:
Rifle rental is free for your entire hunt. Ammunition costs $200 per box.
Depending on your PH, the outfitter has these rifle calibers available to rent, with solids available for each of them:
- .223
- .308
- .375 H&H
If you plan to bring your own rifle, the outfitter recommends calibers in the .300s and above, such as a .300, .30-06, .308, and .375.
Getting There:
You will first fly into Johannesburg and, depending on the time of your arrival, either fly directly to Kimberly or stay overnight in the African Sky guest house and fly out the next morning. There, you'll meet the outfitter in the arrivals hall and begin your 1.5-hour trip to the hunting lodge. If choosing to come from Johannesburg, it is a 5-hour drive to the lodge and a $400 round trip charge per vehicle (3 persons/vehicle max). Once you arrive, you will be greeted by the lodge staff and begin preparing for the next day’s hunt!
Deposit and Payment Policy:
To book this hunt, a 30% deposit is due. The full balance must be paid either by US cash, wire transfer, or credit card (3% fee) at arrival, with any extra animals paid at the end of the hunt.
Cancellation Policy:
Deposits are non-refundable. The outfitter may allow a safari to be rescheduled once if requested a minimum of 90 days in advance of the start of the safari at the sole discretion of the outfitter. Rescheduling a hunt for the subsequent year is subject to that year's price list. Any rescheduled safaris are subject to a $150 administration fee to be paid directly to the booking agent. Travel insurance can be obtained to cover unexpected illnesses. A Travel Policy is strongly recommended when traveling to remote areas in foreign countries.
Exclusions: International and domestic airfare, ammunition, rifle importation costs, shipment of trophies to taxidermist, taxidermy, international shipping of trophies, insurance, gratuities
