This safari allows you to pick your animals and customize your hunt to fit exactly the trophies you are looking for! The owner of this hunting concession is one of the largest game breeders in South Africa.  In an effort to maintain exclusivity for their high-quality genetics, they will put their extra near breeder-quality animals here from time to time. On my last trip there I shot a massive 32” wildebeest and two trophy red hartebeest between 25" and 26”. It is possible to find a giant here with some luck!

This concession is located in the Northwest Province and is around 22,000 acres. It is perfect for a first-time hunter who needs to bag lots of plains game trophies or for the returning hunter who is looking to selectively pick and choose what trophies are next on their list! 

If you arrive in Johannesburg later in the afternoon or evening, you may want to stay overnight, as the lodge is a 3.5-hour drive from the airport. The terrain is quite varied, with rolling hills, open plains, and thick bush in the concession. The closest town to the lodge is Rustenburg.  

HUNTING METHODS

This is your standard style of African hunt. You'll ride in a truck to spot animals before continuing a stalk on foot. You’ll be navigating both hilly and open areas and having to change your tactics for different approaches. The concession is home to many impressive trophies, but you'll definitely need to put in the effort each day to claim the best ones. You'll encounter plenty of animals each day as it’s a very game-rich concession, but the real challenge will be harvesting the real giants this land holds! 

THE HUNTING LODGE

This 3.5-star lodge is a 3 ½ hour drive from Johannesburg. It has very comfortable accommodations and features permanent power, as well as both cell phone and internet service. The food here is awesome and the lodge staff are absolutely on top of things. They truly go the extra mile and make you feel warm and welcome. Your experience here will be superb! It is a high-end experience at an affordable price.

This area is not a malaria area.  No special precautions are required.

THE HUNT

You’ll begin your typical day by waking up in the morning and enjoying a light breakfast prepared by the service staff. You’ll load up into the truck around sunrise and continue hunting until around 11 AM. Around that time you and your PH will head back to the lodge for a full lunch and a rest during the heat of the day, heading back out to hunt the evening around 3 PM. 

Once you spot a trophy you and your PH are happy with, you will get out and begin your stalk. Since this concession has lots of different types of terrain, your PH will be instrumental in guiding you to a successful shooting position. Once you harvest your trophy, it will be brought back to camp, skinned, salted, and stored for pickup by the taxidermist. Rifle rental is offered for only $120 plus the ammo that you use on this safari.

All the included animals are tradable for any other animals on the price list at the price listed next to them. 

Activities for Observers

The area features a few activities to keep your spouse and family occupied while you are hunting. Some of these activities (30 min drive) are:

• Game Drives at a nearby breeding ranch
• Wine Tasting at the nearby convention facility
• A day at a world-class 5-star spa

So what are you waiting for? Why book a hunt with daily rates and then shoot animals at full price? This is a great plains game package in South Africa that includes 7 animals every African hunter should have. If you already have some of those, there is no need to double harvest and just trade them out for a different trophy! 

Many hunters tell me they don’t want to spend a lot of time in a car driving to a remote hunting area. This hunt will put you right in the middle of a convenient and magnificent hunting area with great trophy quality!  What more can one ask for?

Deposit Policy:  A deposit of $2,000 is required at the time of booking to secure dates. The balance of the package and any additional fees for additional animals taken or wounded are due on the last day of the hunt, before departing camp. The outfitter accepts Credit Cards (Visa and Mastercard), debit cards, and US cash.

Cancellation Policy: Deposits are non-refundable, but hunts can be extended in the same year or to subsequent years at the outfitter's discretion. Any increase in prices or increase due to the exchange rate for hunts that are extended to later years will be the client’s responsibility. All rescheduled hunts are subject to a $150 administration fee, which will be collected by the booking agent before processing the change.
