Hunt Grant’s Gazelle and Thompson’s Gazelle in Tanzania
This is the most affordable Tanzania plains game hunting safari that I have seen. You will hunt in a great area from a comfortable luxury camp and take some of the more affordable exotic plains game species such as Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, East African Impala, Cokes Hartebeest and Kirk’s Dik. One buffalo is available on trophy for this safari but is not guaranteed. But if you spot a shooter, or you knock out your plains game list early, they are available to hunt.
THE MAASAILAND HUNTING AREA
The hunt will take place in Massailand and will be a safari that is like the ones taken in the past by Earnest Hemmingway and Robert Ruark. The terrain is generally flat but the rivers and drainages present small hills, bottom areas, and lookouts. The plains game hunting area is vast and encompasses 491,000 acres. There are many Maasai people in the area and the game mixes with their cattle as they have for thousands of years.
There are several great touring options that are easily added to this Grant’s gazelle and Thompson’s gazelle hunting safari. The Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti Plains to name just a couple of options. Mt. Kilimanjaro is a popular destination for those that are more adventurous and are in excellent physical shape.

HUNTING PLAINS GAME IN MAASAILAND
The PH has had a great success rate hunting exotic plains game over the last several years. His clients take fully mature plains game trophies at significantly lower prices than offered by other outfitters in Tanzania. The well-maintained vehicles will be used to locate game on the vast Maasailand plains.
Once your quarry has been spotted, you will proceed to stalk them on foot. You will walk from 2-8 kilometers a day while hunting plains game in this region of Tanzania. If you decide to hunt a Cape buffalo, you will use the vehicle to cut fresh buffalo tracks and then will proceed to track them on foot in the traditional manner. The Cape buffalo can grow exceptionally large in Maasailand and are known for their wide spreads but are not easy to hunt due to the wide-open plains that are prevalent in the area.
THE MAASAILAND HUNTING LODGE
Although this is a wilderness hunt, you will stay in a 4-star tented camp. The lodging will consist of large East African style tents with in-suite showers and toilets. The tents will feature large single or double frame beds and mattresses with clean linens and blankets. The tents also feature windows, rugs, and complete floors. The camp has 5 tents each with a capacity to accommodate 2 people either on double beds or a large single bed. The camp has a capacity of accommodating a total of 10 people all at once with 2 people per tent.
A maximum of 6 hunters can be accommodated at one time using 3 vehicles with 2 hunters on each vehicle for a 2x1 safari. If on 1x1 safari only 3 hunters can be accommodated at once in the camp. There is a lot of game that is scattered over a wide area.
Laundry will be done daily, and the service staff is always on call. Electrical power is provided by a generator. Internet and cell phone service is not available in camp. A satellite phone is available in camp in case of emergencies. For those of you that wish to stay in touch with your home or business, bringing a satellite phone would be a good option.
Food will consist of 3 course dinners, picnic lunches and made-to-order breakfasts. Bottled water, non-alcoholic beverages are all available and included. The outfitter will stop at a liquor store if you want alcoholic beverages. You can import one bottle of liquor into Tanzania duty free. A waiter, butler and daily laundry service will be provided for your comfort and convenience.
The tents are furnished with either a large single bed or double beds with a chair and table for reading. Each tent contains an in-suite bathroom with a flush toilet inside and a hot shower.
THE MAASAILAND OUTFITTER
The outfitter has been hunting professionally in Africa for 27 years. He is very hands-on and personally conducts many of the hunts. His other PH also has been hunting dangerous game for several years and both are highly experienced plains game hunters. You cannot be in better hands when hunting in a remote area than with this outfitter. The equipment is well-maintained, and the staff is well-trained.

Testimonials
"I had the hunting experience of a lifetime. And I have a real need to go back. I made many new friends from South Africa, Australia and the USA.
I strongly recommend both Discount African Hunts and this outfitter. John Martins set me up with a great outfitter, answered all my questions and made sure I had all my paperwork in order A to Z."

"This was my first trip to Africa and can positively say it will not be my only one. Words simply can not describe the events of the hunt. I hunted with both longbow and compound and took a total of 12 animals. I speak volumes to Discount African Hunts. These guys know the ins and outs. Thank you for my first Amazing African Adventure!"

"First, I wanted to tell you the buffalo hunt with the outfitter you booked me with was great! The PH took me to a farm where there was a good herd of buffalo and I shot a 40” old dagga boy. I could have taken another one a bit wider, 42”, with hard bosses but he did not have that old rough beat-up look I was after."
