Dangerous Game Hunting Safaris in Namibia

Dangerous game hunts in Namibia offer the modern day big game hunter a wide variety of choices. All of the dangerous seven big game Animals of Africa are available in Namibia and are currently huntable.  The terrain that these big game animals are hunted in varies widely and this makes hunting in Namibia a popular place to hunt dangerous game.  Namibia does not allow dangerous game to be hunted with a bow, so all dangerous game hunting safaris in Namibia are conducted using firearms.  The .375 caliber is the minimum required by law for dangerous game hunting safaris in Namibia.

One of the primary destinations for dangerous game hunts in Namibia is the Caprivi Strip.  The Caprivi Strip is a narrow extension of land that extends westward from Northern Namibia all the way to the Zambia and lies between Angola and Botswana.  The Caprivi Strip is a primary big game hunting destination in Namibia and offers all of the big 5 except rhino.  Elephants travel with regularity between Angola and Botswana’s Okavango Delta.  Large herds of buffalo roam these areas also.  Hippopotamus and crocodile are found in the Linyanti River and in the Okavango River as it passes through the Caprivi Strip.  Cape buffalo hunting in the Caprivi is recognized as one of the great dangerous game destinations in Africa to hunt a trophy Cape buffalo.  The area is known for having good numbers of buffalo and also produces some magnificent trophies.
