Dangerous Game Hunting Safaris in Mozambique
Hunting dangerous game in Mozambique is hunting in truly wild Africa. Mozambique is comprised of vast untamed and unfenced hunting concessions where natuire runs its course via the seasons. Mozambique has that old "untamed Africa" feeling that many of us modern day hunters search for. Mozambique is split by the mighty Zambezi River which flows out of Zimbabwe into Massive Lake Cahora Bassa and then continues onward to the Indian Ocean.
The hunting season for dangerousgame hunting safaris in Mozambigue is generally from April to October, with some areas stretching the season a bit into November. Both bow and handgun hunting for both plains game and dangerous game is legal in Mozambique. Hippo are currently not allowed to be exported and Mozambique ivory is not importable into the United States.
Northern Mozambique has the Niassa Reserve, which has good populations of lion, leopard, common sable, eland and Lichtenstein's hartebeest. Buffalo are distributed unevenly, but some areas have good populations.
Central Mozambique has hunting blocks on Lake Cahora Bassa and following the Zambezi River towards the Marromeu Reserve. Buffalo, hippo and crocodile are found in abundance near the lake. Coutadas 10 - 14 are along the lower Zambezi river and offer world-class cape buffalo hunting. Much of Marremou is flooded during approximately half of the year. Buffalo hunting is memorable here, as the buffalo favor the floodplains and may be located by the flocks of white cattle egrets that follow the herds. Some outfitters use Argos to access the buffalo herds. Coutada 7 offers excellent hunting for trophy bull elephants.
Dangerous game hunting safaris in Mozambique are full of adventure and should not be missed. If you want to hunt "old" Africa at an affordable price, then Mozambique is your destination of choice!

Testimonials
"In August 2014 I took a lioness hunt with Discount African Hunts in the Northwest Province of South Africa. The PH's worked hard to customize the hunt for me as I wanted a challenging stalk ending with taking the lioness at close range by an open sighted double rifle. They exceeded my expectations as 12 miles of tracking ended with me shooting the highly agitated lioness at a distance of 25 yards with a couple of rounds of 450 NE".
"I highly recommend a lioness hunt with Discount African Hunts."

"First, I wanted to tell you the buffalo hunt with the outfitter you booked me with was great! The PH took me to a farm where there was a good herd of buffalo and I shot a 40” old dagga boy. I could have taken another one a bit wider, 42”, with hard bosses but he did not have that old rough beat-up look I was after."

"I had the hunting experience of a lifetime. And I have a real need to go back. I made many new friends from South Africa, Australia and the USA.
I strongly recommend both Discount African Hunts and this outfitter. John Martins set me up with a great outfitter, answered all my questions and made sure I had all my paperwork in order A to Z."
