Cancellation Hunts in Africa
The Cancellations / Special section of this website will list any cancellation hunts in Africa that we are currently offering, along with any specially discounted hunts that we are presently offering to our customers. These hunts may or may not be also listed in the appropriate category for the country of species which is being offered. This is also the area where any last-minute hunts will be listed.
Cancellation hunts in Africa are excellent opportunities to save some money and still go on the hunt of a lifetime. Cancellation hunts in Africa are usually reduced in price by the amount of deposit that was forfeited when a buyer canceled his hunt at such a late time that the outfitter was unable to replace the hunt. The hunt is then typically reduced in price by the amount of the deposit that was retained by the outfitter. This offers the replacement hunter the opportunity to save anywhere from 15% to up to 50% of the cost of the hunt. Any governmental taxes due would have to be paid in full, and it varies among the outfitters how the tax due is handled. Although the savings can be substantial when booking a cancellation hunt, you are forced to accept someone else’s dates as to when the hunt must be taken. So a thorough understanding of the season that the hunt will occur in and what the chances of success associated with hunting in that season should be investigated and understood before finalizing the purchase of an African cancellation hunt.
Special hunts are hunts that offer special savings. They will typically be hunts that arise on short notice or hunts that an outfitter is offering at a special price because he has openings in his calendar or wants to remove some selected animals from the concessions he hunts. Short notice hunts, also known as last-minute hunts are hunts that become available within a short time period from the actual start of the hunt.
All three of these types of hunts offer great opportunities to save some money while taking your African dream hunt. When you spot one of these great deals, don’t spend too much time thinking about the hunt, or some other savvy customer will swoop in and book the cancellation hunt in Africa for themselves.
