This is a great price for a discounted 7-day / 5-star plains game hunting safari package in South Africa’s Waterberg Mountains! This five-star South African outfitter has put together a 4-animal package for the hunter who wants to hunt in luxury at an affordable price. For those of you who want to bring your family or friends along to experience Africa, this is the best deal you are going to find! I have personally hunted there and am going back for some more of the huge animals that they offer!
The Plains Game Hunting Safari Area
The hunting location for this 5-star beginner's plains game hunting safari will take place in South Africa's Limpopo Province’s Waterberg Mountains. The hunting areas are located within the Waterberg Mountains "Biosphere Reserve" which is a UNESCO-protected area. Animal quality here is maintained by strict quotas. The 5-Star hunting lodge is a 3-hour drive north of Johannesburg. A 10,000-acre privately owned reserve featuring four 5-star lodges will be the location for this hunt. This area is well known for the great plains game hunting and Cape buffalo hunting that it produces.
The Leopard Lodge
During your 5-Star beginner's plains game hunting safari in South Africa, you will stay in the magnificent 5-Star Leopard Lodge. The Leopard Lodge features 10 double-bed luxurious accommodations featuring in-suite bathrooms and has available two larger luxury suites and a VIP bungalow, which has its own in-suite bar.
All accommodations feature fans, room safes, and both European and American voltage converters. Internet service is available in the bar area. Cell phone service is not available in camp, but coverage resumes at the top of the hill on your way to and from hunting.
There is an elevated blind near the lodge that overlooks a waterhole and feeding area that is frequented by some real monsters! Sixty-inch kudu are regular visitors to this waterhole and it is a great place for the non-hunters to photograph the native wildlife.
The Animal Museum
There is an extensive on-site African animal museum featuring full mounts of the Big Five and many other African species. You will have dinner in the elephant lodge on the night of your arrival.
The Wine Cellar
Beneath the animal museum, there is an extensive well-stocked wine cellar where wine tastings may be arranged. Although your hunt includes a beverage package, you may order special bottles of wine from the cellar to be served with your dinner.
The Bar and Pool
The lodge features a fully stocked bar overlooking the pool area and is manned by a bartender during the appropriate hours. There is a pool and a heated spa for you and your family to relax in after the hunt.
The Companions Program
A special program of activities is available to those observers who do not wish to hunt or only want to accompany the hunter for part of the time they are hunting. Activities vary from game walks, game drives, visits to other reserves and National Parks, curio shopping, etc. The current companions program may be viewed below:
Trophy Plains Game Hunting Methods
Hunting methods for this 5-Star trophy plains game hunting safari package will consist of early morning drives searching for suitable game. Once suitable members of the species you are targeting are spotted, you will begin a stalk on foot until a good shot opportunity is presented. Some walking and glassing will also occur.
If you are bow hunting, the months of June – September during the new moon are the best times to go. It can get hot in some of the blinds during the middle of the day, so appropriate clothing should be worn.
The Kudu Rut
If you plan on adding a trophy kudu to your package, the best time to hunt with a rifle is during the kudu rut. The kudu rut in this area is from late April until the middle of June. Big kudu are also taken in the dry winter months of July-September by sitting on waterholes similar to what would be done when bow hunting. Trail cameras are used to identify areas that have daytime activity by big kudus.
There are some exceptional plains game trophies on these concessions. Pricing for additional plains game animals along with select dangerous game may be viewed via the link below:

"The hippo and croc hunt was good to great -- People make the hunt and from the booking agent to the outfitter YOU COULDN'T ask for a better hunt! Very few hunting ads tell you what you will get and then deliver it with a smile and extras. Both ends are honest and great to deal with."
"John Martins tries his hardest to get you a great price and your animals with honest outfitters!"
